The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Pharmacist to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing a high-volume workload and comfortable delivering a comprehensive array of pharmacy services. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medicines, providing expert advice to patients, and contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately and safely dispense prescriptions, ensuring all legal and ethical requirements are met.
Provide comprehensive medication counselling and advice to patients on various health conditions, over-the-counter medicines, and healthy living.
Conduct a range of pharmacy services, which may include (but are not limited to) NMS, COVID/flu vaccinations, Pharmacy First, travel vaccinations, and other locally commissioned services.
Effectively delegate tasks and supervise the pharmacy team, including Accuracy Checking Technicians (ACTs) and Dispensers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Manage and resolve patient queries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data protection compliance.
Oversee stock management, ordering, and inventory control.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of pharmacy services and operational efficiency.
Adhere to all relevant GPhC standards, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
Essential Requirements:
Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Demonstrable experience working in a busy community pharmacy setting.
Proven ability to manage a high volume of prescriptions and patient interactions efficiently.
Strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
Effective delegation and supervisory skills, with experience overseeing pharmacy support staff, including Accuracy Checking Technicians.
A proactive and organised approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience with
Proscript
and
Titan
pharmacy management system.
Independent Prescriber qualification (desirable, but not essential).
