The type of person we are looking for will be committed to outstanding levels of customer service and enthusiastic about working with young people.

You will be the first point of contact providing a full receptionist service, greeting parents, visitors and staff, creating an efficient, polite and welcoming first impression.

You will undertake a range of administration tasks Demonstrating a willingness to contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the academy.

Will be required to work inset days

Ability to use ICT packages.

Good keyboard skills.

Ability to relate well to children and to adults.

Previous experience in a customer service/reception role

Has a friendly yet professional and respectful approach which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect.

Takes responsibility and accountability of their actions.

Committed to the needs of the students, parents and other stakeholders and challenge barriers and blocks to providing an effective service.

Demonstrates a "can do" attitude including suggesting solutions, participating, trusting and encouraging others and achieving expectations.

Qualifications and Experience



Previous reception/administration experience required
You will be educated with formal qualifications including GCSE (or Level 2 equivalent) in Mathematics and English Language or similar qualifications gained since leaving compulsory education.

NVQ 2 or above in administration desirable



Ensure that the reception area is welcoming, tidy and project a professional image

Greet and welcome all visitors to the school, providing a helpful and proactive service always ensuring all enquiries are dealt with in an efficient, professional, friendly and caring manner ensuring the smooth running of reception

Acting as first point of contact for the school. Answer telephone queries in a polite, professional, friendly and caring manner. To include receiving and transferring calls, announcing callers, taking messages and ensuring that they are passed on via email

Ensure signing in/out procedures are adhered to and appropriate security checks are carried out

To input breakfast club and school lunch numbers into parentpay and prepare reports for the kitchen

To contact parents / legal guardians regarding collections

To work as an essential member of the Administration Team, taking responsibility for providing first class administration to support to the school

Ensuring all administration tasks are completed with accuracy and in a timely manner whilst maintaining an accurate and structured filing system on and offline

Data entry and production of basic reports

To photocopy documents and materials as directed

Assist with preparation of school visits and occasional supervision of pupils on visits

To undertake administrative duties in respect of pupil attendance, including following up of individual absences

Update electronic first aid book with incidents

Maintaining after school clubs registers

Ensure Sims has up to date pupil information and adding new pupil data

Liaising with other schools as to pupil starters and leavers

Support with year-end tasks and preparation of annual school reports

Assist with preparing of school events

Ordering of items and processing purchase orders

Providing first aid to pupils and updating electronic first aid book with incidents

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection. Reporting all concerns to the appropriate person

Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school

Participate in training, other learning activities and performance development as required

Attend and participate in meetings as required

To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.

Any other duties commensurate with the duties/responsibilities/grade of the post
