Job Description

EdStart South Manchester is dedicated to supporting primary schools in delivering high-quality PE and sports coaching sessions. Our coaches work with children from Foundation Stage to Upper Key Stage 2, using the PE curriculum as a framework for school-time delivery. In addition to curriculum-based sessions, we offer extra-curricular activities, including before/after-school clubs and dinner-time clubs, where available.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals with a sports background to join our team as After School Wrap Around Care Coaches.

Main Duties:

1. Plan and Deliver Coaching Sessions:

- Organise and lead after-school or wrap-around care sessions, ensuring they are engaging, fun, and aligned with the needs of the children.

2. School-Specific Scenarios:

- Provide food (if required), engage pupils in activities, and lead a variety of sports and games.

3. Equipment Management:

- Regularly monitor sports equipment, ensuring it is in good condition. Report any lost or faulty equipment to the line manager promptly.

4. Health and Safety:

- Adhere to EdStart's health and safety policies and procedures at all times to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

5. Administration:

- Complete registers for all clubs and provide regular updates to the HR Manager.

6. Travel Between Schools:

- Commute to various primary schools within South Manchester to fulfil coaching obligations.

7. Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with your Line Manager and adapt to changes in workload or scheduling at short notice.

Essential Requirements:

- A strong background in sports, with experience in coaching or working with children.

- Availability to work

Monday to Friday, 3pm - 6pm.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.

- A proactive approach to health and safety.

- Ability to travel between primary schools in South Manchester.

- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the role.
