to join our team in Newhaven, East Sussex. To provide support to one service user in their home and in the community. This is a part time permanent role, you will be employed directly by Vida Supported Living.

What will you be doing? As a Support Worker, you'll be more than just their support - you'll be a key part of someone's journey towards living their best life. Here's what you'll be doing:
Develop and implement personalised care plans based on individual needs and aspirations.
Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Nurture a supportive and empathetic environment to address emotional and psychological needs.
Encourage and engage individuals in activities that promote social interaction and personal development.
Facilitate skill-building activities to enhance independence and self-confidence.
Provide guidance and encouragement for the individual to learn and practice essential life skills.
Maintain clear and open communication with individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals.
Advocate for the individual to ensure their voice is heard and respected in decision-making processes.
Ensure a safe and secure living environment, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Monitor and address any health concerns, promptly reporting and collaborating with healthcare professionals when needed.
Keep detailed and accurate records of care activities, progress, and any incidents.
Provide regular updates to the team, supervisors and family, on the well-being and development of the individual.
Stay informed about advancements in the field of mental health and attend relevant training sessions.
Who you will be Supporting?
Our client is a female in her late teens with Autism, Anxiety, Depression and Psychosis. She is known to experience auditory and visual hallucinations, and self-harm. Staff are to provide some support to help her manage her family home and keep this safe and free of hazards. Staff are to encourage a nutritional diet, helping her prepare and cook food. Staff to provide support to help her access the community safely and effectively. She requires support to use public transport, she lacks confidence and would like to improve her independence. She enjoys regular walks, would like to volunteer as a dog walker and visit farms and zoos. She enjoys regular conversation and needs staff who will proactively interact with her. The support she receives plays a crucial role in her daily life, balancing her need for independence with the practical support required to manage potential risks and vulnerabilities.
Essential requirements
Minimum 12 months UK based care experience
Enhanced DBS check
Valid Mandatory training
Fluent English/good communication skills
Two professional references
