Support Worker Required



We are seeking a compassionate and patient Support Worker to assist a woman living independently who requires support with daily planning, emotional regulation, and community access.

Key Support Needs:



Ensure the living environment and walkways remain clear to reduce risk of falls. Encourage rest if she appears fatigued, unsteady or begins talking quickly. Provide calm, reassuring support during periods of emotional distress or impulsivity. Use written and visual prompts (e.g. diary, whiteboard) to aid memory and understanding of information. Support with meal planning, shopping lists, and weekly scheduling to maintain structure and balance rest with social activity. Encourage use of breathing and mindfulness techniques (e.g. Calm app) to help regulate emotions. Remain calm and non-confrontational if she becomes frustrated; allow space and use distraction if fixated on others. Offer reassurance through active listening and conversation about her interests (family, dog, crafts, home decor). Support safe travel planning and use of public transport, helping her remain calm and seated if anxious.

Additional Information:



Independent with personal care and medication management (Type 2 Diabetes). Experiences fatigue, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties affecting memory, planning, and reasoning. Easily overstimulated in busy environments; benefits from calm, structured support.

Interests:

Crafts (card-making for Dogs Trust), reading, word puzzles, home decor, walking, and social outings with family and friends.

What We're Looking For



Minimum 1 year's experience in a complex care role. Experience supporting people with cognitive disfunction, mobility issues and memory issues. A calm, resilient and proactive approach to complex situations. Someone who can bring warmth, humour and creativity to the role. NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not essential). Flexibility to work out of the usual contracted times if required.
