A.S.Handover Ltd. is a long standing British brush making business located in Hertfordshire, with a fully remote sales and management team spread across the UK.
Established 75 years ago, we take pride in hand making professional quality brushes at our workshop in Welwyn Garden City. We also specialise in supplies for gilders, signwriters, pinstripers, specialist decorators, artists and a wide range of other craftspeople working in stained glass, graining, marbling, stencilling, theatrical make-up, picture restoration, scenic painting, coach painting and a host of other skills.

Position: Part Time Warehouse Operative
About the role:
We are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to fill a new role of Part Time Warehouse Operative in our brand new warehouse location in Welwyn Garden City. This position requires a combination of responsibilities involving warehouse operations, with the focus being on assisting the warehouse manager with the tasks that need attention that day.
This role is part time, starting at 12 hours per week - there is scope however for more hours on an adhoc basis, as needed.
We are looking for an individual who has an interest not only in the role, but in learning about our products and traditional crafts.
Hours: Part time, starting at 12 hours per week - flexible working hours
Starting wage: 12.21/minimum wage - with inflation and performance based pay increases possible
Contract: Permanent following a 3 month probationary period
Reporting to: On site Warehouse Manager & Remote General Manager
Job Requirements:
Can pick up and adapt to new tasks and environments quickly
Computer literate, including knowing or learning how to use hardware (scanners,etc) and relevant software programs, such as our warehouse management system Orderwise (training will be provided)
Ideally has warehouse/fulfilment experience
Must be able to work in Welwyn Garden City
Responsible and reliable
Strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively under limited supervision
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling (training will be provided):
Packaging starter kits and brush sets
Decanting and packaging products
Labelling products
Organising and maintaining stock of packaging, labels, etc
Ensuring correct and efficient set up of production lines
Ensuring that finished products meet company quality control requirements
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe decanting environment
Warehouse Operation:
Receiving, inspecting, and organising incoming shipments
Accurate and timely picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders
Use of our inventory management system Orderwise to track stock levels
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
Collaborating with team members to improve warehouse processes and efficiency
