Job Description

We are a large family-owned guesthouse in the centre of Inverness looking to recruit a part time weekend Receptionist to join our small friendly Front of house team that runs the heart of the guesthouse for the busy season. We are looking for someone who can work from March to the end of November.

You will be responsible for ensuring that a high guest satisfaction is maintained, and all requests are dealt with promptly and professionally.

This is an opportunity for either an experienced receptionist or for someone with no previous experience, who has a genuine desire to work within the hospitality industry. However, service with a smile and personality is a must.

Job description:

Responsible for completing the checklist on shift each day - you will have an eye for detail and like following tasks through to the end.

We will provide training for taking and entering reservations and to make and convert bedroom accommodation calls into sales.

You will be responsible for dealing with reservations over the phone and email. Both contract and new reservations.

Checking guests out and handling payments and invoices.

You will communicate well with all your colleagues keeping everyone up to date with the information they need.

Dealing with general enquiries from guests.

There will be other daily clerical work.

You must have excellent verbal and written English and previous experience would be advantageous, however, full training will be provided.

Shifts will be as follows:

Saturday 7am - 11am

Sunday 7am - 11am

We are looking for either one person who can do both days or 2 people. One person for Saturday and one person for Sunday. Please state what your preference would be when applying.

As we are a small team, some of these times may vary, but this would be agreed in advance.

Application requirements:

Preferably reception experience, but not essential. Excellent computer skills. Excellent English, both spoken and written. Other languages are a plus. Good knowledge of the area. Excellent people skills.
