About Brighter Futures for Children

Brighter Futures for Children (BFfC) is improving outcomes for Reading\'s children, young people and families.

We are an independent, not-for-profit-company, wholly owned by Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality children\'s services, early help, education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services in the borough.

  • We protect and enhance the lives of the children of Reading.
  • We help families find long-term solutions to ensure children lead happy, healthy, and successful lives.
  • We embrace new and proven ways of working, including Trauma Informed practice, restorative approaches, strong partnership working, quick and appropriate decision-making.
The Role

Along with our partners, we believe early help is a collaborative approach and response, not a single provision. This role is key in supporting and developing the One Reading Children and Young People\'s Partnership, Readings early help partnership and the work of BFfC Partnership Team. You\'ll provide administrative, project management and business analysis support to the board, workstreams, their associated projects and the partnership team.

Working alongside BFfC colleagues, partners and through your own initiative you\'ll have the opportunity to plan, implement and deliver projects, evidencing key performance measures. The role involves communication, in different forms, with a range of internal and external partners including front line staff, volunteers, senior leaders and elected members.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you will need to have knowledge and understanding of project management principles and techniques, alongside experience of providing business analyst type support to projects. You\'ll need to be able to demonstrate experience of working with multiple projects or programmes, alongside several partners, managing conflicting demands and priorities.

We need someone with highly developed organisational skills, who has experience of using Microsoft applications including excel and powerpoint and in data collection, extraction, and processing. Although you will be fully supported within a team environment you will need to be proactive, able to work on your own initiative, recognising and adapting to changes.

Please note: We will not accept CVs alone for this role. A full application must be completed.
