You will play a significant part in assisting the preparation of the Group\'s internal & external financial reporting, contributing to timely and accurate reporting and a strong financial control environment. Our Group Finance team meet at least once a month in the Leeds office.

What you\'ll do

As a Part-Qualified Management Accountant, we will be looking for you to proactively work with the wider finance team to deliver internal and external financial reporting, tax compliance and reliefs. You will be working in an evolving role where you will support the business across a wide variety of key reporting and financial control processes.

Collaboration with your peers and other teams in the business is key as you will work with the wider finance team to collate information for internal and external reporting. We would look to you as a Management Accountant to prepare analysis and deal with queries from our advisors supporting the Group\'s tax compliance responsibilities.

Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;

  • Play an important role in the review of the Group\'s development spend through preparing analysis of project level expenditure and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and amortisation calculations.
  • Supporting the Group\'s cash management through preparation of short and long term cashflow and elements of balance sheet forecasting
  • Completion of key balance sheet reconciliations, including lease assets and liabilities, capitalised development costs, corporation tax, deferred tax.
  • Supporting an efficient audit process through preparation of working papers and query resolution
  • Play a part in the preparation of the Group\'s external reporting including statutory accounts and the Group\'s annual report.
We will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your financial skillset in management accounts and accounting standards, including IFRS. Therefore, self-development will be a key focus for you.

Who you\'ll be

We need you to be either an AAT qualified or part-qualified finance professional with a passion to develop your expertise in a group finance structure. We\'re looking for you to be able to blend your communication skills with your knowledge of preparation management accounts to deliver tasks on a timely basis.

Collaboration is essential, as is the ability to build credible and trusted relationships with teams and stakeholders across our business. Our Group Finance team work closely to ensure that delivery of financial objectives and projects are met.

Technical skills we are looking for you to demonstrate include;
  • Experience of preparing financial reporting
  • Experience in forecasting, budgeting, reporting and analysis.
  • Experience of preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • An interest in the technical aspects of accounting and a willingness to develop in this area would be a benefit.
