About Us

Law Fertilisers Ltd is a small, family-run fertiliser manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and long-term customer relationships. We supply specialist products to the agricultural sector and operate a factory and laboratory environment.

We are looking for a trustworthy, organised, and capable part-time accountant to take ownership of our day-to-day finance processes and provide general systems and organisational support to help the business run smoothly.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a small team, taking responsibility, and being a key part of a traditional, hands-on business.

The Role

This is a broad and important role within the business. You will be responsible for running our accounting systems, managing payroll, and supporting the smooth operation of the company through good organisation and systems.

Key responsibilities include:

Accounting & Finance

Full operation of Sage 50 Maintaining accurate purchase and sales ledgers Bank reconciliations Preparing and submitting VAT returns Month-end and year-end preparation for external accountants General financial reporting as required
Payroll & HMRC

Weekly payroll for fewer than 10 employees Managing auto-enrolment pensions HMRC submissions (RTI, etc.) Ensuring compliance with payroll regulations
Systems & Operational Support

Assisting with ordering of raw materials, lab solutions, and consumables Helping maintain organised stock and purchasing systems Supporting simple internal systems to ensure smooth running of the factory and laboratory General administrative and organisational support where needed
This is not just a data-entry role -- we are looking for someone who can think ahead, spot issues early, and help keep things running efficiently.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced with Sage 50 Confident running payroll and dealing with HMRC Highly organised and detail-oriented Reliable, trustworthy, and discreet Comfortable working independently Happy working in a small, traditional, family-run business Practical and solutions-focused
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
