Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our team. We are a small 2 surgery practice in Davidsons Mains in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient comfort. The practice is mainly Private with some NHS patients.

The days available are Monday and Thursday, hours are 9am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance. Provide high-quality patient care by reassuring patients, answering their questions, and addressing any concerns they may have. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner. Manage appointment scheduling, ensuring efficient use of time for both patients and dental staff. Ensure that all dental equipment is properly sterilised and maintained according to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with other dental professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient treatment plans. Stay updated on the latest dental technologies and practices to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

A recognised qualification in dental nursing or equivalent experience in a similar role. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues alike. Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare setting, demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Proficiency in IT systems relevant to dental practice management is advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Fluency in English is essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
