Al-Hurraya is a peer-led organisation supporting Black, Asian, Ethnic Minority, Refugee, Asylum Seeking and emerging communities. We provide culturally specific, trauma-informed, faith- and culture-aware support rooted in lived experience. We work across the areas of:

Addiction and recovery Youth diversion and mentoring Domestic and sexual violence Gambling harm School-based counselling Support for asylum seekers Community training and professional development
We are looking for a skilled and passionate individual to amplify our voice and impact across digital platforms. The Role We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Digital Communications and Social Media Manager to take the lead in managing and enhancing Al-Hurraya's digital presence. This is a critical role responsible for connecting us with our supporters, beneficiaries, and the wider public.

Key Responsibilities



Social Media Management: Develop, implement, and manage our social media strategy across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn). Plan, schedule, and publish engaging, relevant, and timely content. Monitor, manage, and respond to comments and messages to maintain excellent community engagement. Content Creation & Design: Create compelling visual content, including posters, flyers, graphics, and short videos, for use across digital and print channels. Ensure all content aligns with Al-Hurraya's brand guidelines and mission. Source and manage image/video assets (e.g., photography, stock footage). Email Marketing & Newsletters: Design, write, and distribute a regular ongoing digital newsletter to update stakeholders on our work, impact, and appeals. Manage and segment our email subscriber list (using platforms like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.). Digital Communications: Maintain a high standard of professional and consistent communication across all digital touchpoints. Monitor digital trends and suggest innovative ways to increase reach and engagement. Track and report on key social media and newsletter metrics.

What You'll Bring



Proven Experience: Demonstrated past experience managing digital communications and social media for an organisation (charity/non-profit experience is a strong advantage). Content Expertise: Excellent copywriting, editing, and verbal communication skills. Design Proficiency: Competency in using graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for creating high-quality visual assets like posters and flyers. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute a cohesive digital strategy that drives measurable results. Organisational Skills: Highly organised with excellent time management, capable of working independently to meet deadlines. Commitment: A genuine passion for the mission and values of Al-Hurraya.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week

Work Location: In person
