The Custom House (Transit) Ltd was set up by a team of experts in the customs field principally to facilitate exports and imports when the United Kingdom (UK) left the customs union of the European Union (EU) in 2020.
We are seeking a part-time finance administrator to assist in the smooth and efficient running of our billing process. Working an average of 10-15 hours per week, as typical in most finance roles, there will be busier and quieter times of the month. The role will be yours to manage so long as deadlines are met. Initially office based, but with the potential to work largely from home once fully trained. We require someone that is methodical and has exceptional attention to detail to manage and maintain accurate billing records.
Responsibilities
The main responsibility of this position is to check various reports/spreadsheets to gather data for accurate billing each month.
Manage office documents, ensuring all files are up to date and easily accessible.
Collaborate with team members when necessary.
With the collected data, raise and send client invoices. We currently use Sage.
Contribute to improving financial processes and systems.
From time to time, you may be asked to assist with other administrative/finance tasks.
Experience
Proven experience in a finance administration role.
Confident Excel knowledge is essential along with excellent numeracy and accuracy skills.
Proficient in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office and Google applications.
Demonstrate ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written when dealing with our clients and suppliers.
Excellent attention to detail.
Organised and able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to change.
Ability to handle sensitive financial information, maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Experience of Sage accounting package or similar would be advantageous.
Education
A level English or equivalent.
GCSE Maths A-C or equivalent.
For the right person, we are offering a flexible working week to suit both parties. Working largely from home once confident, we will require you to meet in person on a weekly basis. This position may suit a self-employed bookkeeper.
Based in or able to travel to Reading.
FTE 30,000 per annum. 11,250 pro rata.
