Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hard working part time Kitchen Porter to join our team in our busy kitchen. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy cafe kitchen with the possibility of training with the FOH team to cover for holiday and absence when needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. More importantly is a willingness to work hard and learn, great communication and flexibility.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain hygiene standards Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen team leaders Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment Restocking supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in line with health and safety regulations Maintaining organisation within the kitchen area to promote efficiency and safety

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is beneficial Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills Flexibility to work shifts as required - working days are likely to be a Friday and Saturday between 8:00am and 6:00pm

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 24 per week
