: Part-Time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

About the Role:
Cameron Vale School is seeking a compassionate, proactive, and experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 pupil diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome. This is a part-time role focused on supporting the pupil during core lessons across three mornings per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 support during core academic lessons (English, maths).
Implement strategies and interventions aligned with the pupil's EHCP and individual learning plan.
Support the delivery of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) priorities under the guidance of specialists.
Use coaching techniques to build the pupil's confidence, independence, and self-regulation skills.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
Monitor and record progress, contributing to regular reviews and planning meetings.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Essential Requirements:
Experience working with children with additional needs, ideally including DiGeorge Syndrome or similar conditions.
Understanding of OT and SALT strategies and how to integrate them into the classroom.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or child development.
Experience with coaching or mentoring techniques in an educational setting.
