Job Description

You'll be an important part of our friendly team, supporting both the children and staff throughout the day.

On Mondays and Fridays, you'll work as a Nursery Practitioner, taking an active role in supporting the children's learning and development through play. Your day might include:

Leading exciting, child-led activities both indoors and outdoors Supporting children's learning, curiosity, and independence Building warm, trusting relationships with children and families Encouraging creativity, exploration, and a love for the outdoors - whatever the weather! Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment
During your lunchtime cover shifts (Tuesday-Thursday), you'll:

Set up, serve, and clear away lunch Follow food safety and hygiene practices while preparing and serving meals Support children during mealtimes, following safer eating practices and encouraging independence Complete and maintain all relevant food safety and nursery paperwork accurately and promptly Cover lunch breaks for team members in the classroom Ensure the lunch area and play spaces are clean, safe, and well-organised
You'll need to be physically able to set up and tidy away lunch tables and equipment, and happy to work as part of a small, supportive team.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

Are caring, reliable, and enjoy working with young children Have or are willing to complete a Food Safety Certificate (we can support this) Are comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, setting up, and cleaning Hold a Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification (desirable but not essential) Hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable but not essential - training can be provided) Are energetic, hands-on, and love being outdoors in all weathers Understand the importance of safeguarding and child wellbeing Are happy working both independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
Training opportunities are available for the right candidate, and we always support staff to grow and develop in their role.

Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: 12.44-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
