Position Overview:



The Support/Key Worker will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, person-centered support to young people within our supported accommodation. This role involves developing support plans, offering crisis intervention, ensuring safety and security, and advocating for young people's needs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar support role, particularly working with young people facing challenges, and a strong commitment to promoting independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities



Support and Support Planning:



Develop and implement individualised support plans in collaboration with young people, ensuring that their needs, preferences, and goals are met through formal and informal key worker sessions. Provide emotional and practical support to residents, helping them to develop life skills and achieve personal goals. Monitor and review support plans regularly to ensure they remain effective and relevant. Work with young people to engage in ETE options (Education, Training & Employment) Plan, organise and deliver relevant and meaningful activities/ workshops for young people internally/externally.

Crisis Intervention:



Respond promptly and effectively to crises, providing appropriate intervention and support. Develop and implement crisis management plans, working closely with young people and other relevant parties to ensure their safety and well-being. Enforce house rules, resolve conflict and have the ability to identify potential risks

Safety and Security:



Ensure the safety and security of young people within the accommodation. Conduct regular safety checks, addressing any issues promptly. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Complete risk assessments and incident reports

Advocacy:



Advocate on behalf of young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld. Support young people in accessing external services and resources, including healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. Liaise with external agencies and service providers to coordinate support and ensure a holistic approach to care.

Communication:



Maintain open and effective communication with residents, their families, and other stakeholders. Facilitate and encourage resident participation in decision-making processes and community activities. Document and report on young person's progress, incidents, and any changes in their needs or circumstances.

Managing Referrals:



Manage referrals and admissions to the supported accommodation, ensuring a smooth transition for the new young person. Conduct assessments and interviews to determine the suitability of potential residents. Work closely with referring agencies and professionals to gather relevant information and ensure appropriate support is in place.

Documentation:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of young people interactions, progress, and incidents. Complete required paperwork, including incident reports, shift logs and keyworker sessions.

Essential :



Right to work in the UK. Flexible availability over weekends. Genuinely caring, with a want to provide fantastic support to children. You are able to keep accurate records, carrying out all recording and reporting in a person-centered, factual manner. You work safely and ensure contractual and regulatory compliance so our young people can trust, feel safe and have confidence in the support we provide Willingness to attend trainings and further your knowledge. Good communication, good written skills and fluent English. Positive, with a problem-solving approach to challenging situations . Reliable, with good time keeping. Good written skills and fluent English Confident with lone working. All posts are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable :



Experience in working with young people / social care. Experience lone working with young people. A basic knowledge of Ofsted. Qualification in Childcare i.e NVQ.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract, Volunteer, Permanent
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week
