Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of food items, as well as contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products when appropriate. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including equipment and work surfaces. Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to ensure freshness of products. Perform basic maths calculations for portioning and pricing items accurately. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the deli department. Adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies regarding food preparation and handling.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a food environment is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. level 2 food safety trained, but not essentia, as we will put you through this training if needed. Strong time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to engage with customers positively and provide excellent service. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques is an advantage. A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing demands within the deli department.
