Overview


We are seeking a talented and passionate

Pastry Chef

to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and culinary techniques, with a particular focus on baking and pastry preparation. This role is essential in creating high-quality desserts and baked goods that delight our customers and enhance our restaurant's reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities



Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and presentation standards. Ensure all food production meets the highest quality standards for taste, texture, and appearance. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute seasonal menus that showcase innovative pastry creations. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as needed to ensure continuous production. Assist in training junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques and best practices for food preparation. Maintain equipment used in the preparation of pastries, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a cook or pastry cook in a restaurant or bakery setting. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, particularly in baking and pastry production. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A passion for creating high-quality baked goods and an eagerness to learn new techniques within the culinary field. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen's operational needs.
