Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a flair for cooking and baking. As a Pastry Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing pastry kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is perfect for someone looking to advance their culinary career in a dynamic restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Ensure all food production meets quality standards and adheres to food safety regulations. Oversee kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as necessary. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including special menu items. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and menu items. Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and baking. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A passion for food and creativity in developing new dishes. Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with kitchen staff. Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role is advantageous but not essential.
