We are seeking an experienced and highly organised
Patient Administrator
to join our close-knit administration team. This is a key patient-facing role, ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering an exceptional service and thrives in a professional healthcare setting where attention to detail and discretion are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Acting as a first point of contact for patient enquiries by telephone and email, providing accurate and professional information
Booking, scheduling, and confirming consultations and surgical procedures
Working closely with consultants, nurses, and fellow administrators to ensure clinics and theatre lists run smoothly
Maintaining accurate, up-to-date patient records in accordance with GDPR and confidentiality standards
Processing patient payments, issuing receipts, and accurately recording financial transactions
Assisting with surgical bookings, managing consultant diaries, and issuing pre- and post-operative documentation
Arranging follow-up appointments and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey
Welcoming patients to the hospital, checking them in, and ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and well supported
Carrying out general administrative duties including filing, scanning, handling post, and maintaining organised workspaces
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Previous experience in an administrative or patient-facing role
Excellent communication skills with a professional, reassuring manner
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
Confidence using Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
A clear understanding of confidentiality and GDPR requirements
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
Highly Desirable:
Previous experience in a healthcare, medical, or private hospital/clinic setting
Experience dealing directly with patients and managing sensitive information
