We're looking for a caring and organised
Patient Care Assistant
to be the welcoming face of our practice, supporting patients and helping to keep things running smoothly across our Armadale and Blackridge sites.

At Barbauchlaw Medical Practice, we are a friendly and supportive GP practice serving our local communities across Armadale and Blackridge. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care in a welcoming environment. We are now looking for a reliable and approachable Patient Care Assistant to join our admin team, working across both of our sites.
About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be the first point of contact for patients -- face-to-face, by phone, and online -- providing excellent customer service while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice with warmth and professionalism
Answering telephone calls, booking appointments, and managing patient queries
Processing prescription requests and handling medical paperwork accurately
Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks including scanning, coding, and filing
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence (letters, emails etc)
Keeping patient records up to date on the clinical system (training provided)
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to GDPR at all times
Working as part of a close-knit admin team to ensure the smooth daily running of the practice
About You:
Experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role (healthcare experience is a bonus but not essential)
Friendly, calm, and patient-focused approach
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and confidence in learning new systems
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Flexible and able to work across both sites as needed
Able to work well under pressure and remain professional at all times
A genuine interest in supporting patients and being part of a healthcare team
