We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and professional
Patient Care Coordinator
to join our multidisciplinary dental practice in Scotland. This is a vital, non-sales role dedicated to supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and well cared for at every stage.
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the main point of administrative contact for our patients completing longitudinal care by our Dentist With Special Interest: From their initial inquiry or referral through to treatment completion. You'll work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to deliver a high standard of service that reflects our commitment to patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Liaison:
Serve as the first point of contact for new and existing patients.
Communicate clearly and sensitively about treatment plans, procedures, and appointments.
Provide reassurance and support to patients, especially those who may be anxious.
Coordination of Care:
Schedule consultations, appointment scheduling to fit with treatment landmarks, and correspondence to referral practices.
Ensure that all patient information and documentation are accurate and up to date.
Liaise with dental professionals to maintain smooth patient flow and treatment continuity.
Administrative Support:
Maintain patient records in compliance with GDPR and confidentiality standards.
Prepare treatment documentation and assist with consent forms.
Assist in auditing, reporting, and patient feedback collection.
Team Collaboration:
Work alongside dentists, dental nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality care.
Attend regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of patient services.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience in a patient-facing role within healthcare or dental services
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Empathetic and professional manner
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Competence in Microsoft Office and practice management software
Commitment to confidentiality and data protection standards
Desirable:
Experience in a dental or specialist healthcare setting
Knowledge of dental terminology and treatments
Familiarity with dental software systems (e.g. Software of Excellence,)
