to join our dedicated team at Grove House Surgery As the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality service and supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy GP Practice.
Job Summary
Your role will involve welcoming patients, assisting with appointment scheduling, managing queries, and providing general administrative support. You will help ensure that patients access the appropriate healthcare services in a courteous and effective manner, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with our policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a professional and efficient reception service for patients and visitors
Handle enquiries, book and check-in appointments, and manage urgent requests calmly and effectively
Support new patient registrations, ensuring all procedures are followed correctly
Accurately process home visit requests and liaise with clinical staff as needed
Answer and make telephone calls, recording and relaying messages accurately
Maintain patient records (paper and electronic) in line with data protection standards
Assist with the repeat prescription process in accordance with practice policy
Inform patients of charges for private services and process payments appropriately
Contribute to the safety and security of the premises, including opening and closing duties
Carry out any additional administrative tasks as required by the management team
About You
Experience working with the general public in a customer-facing role
Previous experience in administration (NHS or healthcare setting desirable but not essential)
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
IT literate with experience in using computer systems and data entry
