Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised Patient Services Assistant to join our team at our busy Newcastle clinic. This is a front facing, fully on-site role that plays a vital part in ensuring a positive experience for our patients. You will act as the first point of contact for patients, managing communications across phone and email, as well as handling day-to-day administrative tasks that support both the patients and the clinical team. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organised, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a high level of empathy and professionalism. This is a fast paced and rewarding role, working within a multi-disciplinary team to help deliver high-quality clinical research in a friendly and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as point of contact for patient enquiries
Manage complex and dynamic clinic diaries
Schedule patient appointments in line with study protocols
Provide general administrative support to the site
Ensure all patient interactions are handled with care, discretion, and attention to detail
Liaise with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination of appointments
Support the smooth running of the reception area, maintaining a welcoming and well organised area for patients
Uphold GDPR guidelines at all times
Proactively learn about ongoing and upcoming studies to ensure accurate and informed patient scheduling and support
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience working in a clinical research investigator site is preferred, but not essential
Experience working in a healthcare or medical field is essential
Minimum of 2-3 years administrative experience
Minimum of 2-3 years in a patient facing role
Willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisational skills
