Stoneygate Eye Hospital is looking for a proactive and organised
Patient Support & Receptionist
to play a vital role in the smooth running of our clinic. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and professional experience for every patient and visitor.
About the Role
As the welcoming voice and face of our clinic, you will provide professional and empathetic support to patients and visitors. This dual-responsibility role is critical to our daily success, combining frontline reception duties with essential administrative support to ensure exceptional patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Handle incoming calls and make outbound calls as required.
Schedule and manage patient appointments, including triaging for new and post-operative patients.
Act as a key link between consultants, patients, and external partners (including opticians and hospitals).
Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, and photocopying.
Identify and escalate any issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
Support the wider clinic team with general office duties as needed.
As a Receptionist greet patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, ensuring an excellent first impression.
Maintain a tidy, organised, and welcoming reception area.
About You
Experience in a customer-facing role (experience within healthcare or administration is advantageous).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Confident phone manner and polished professional presentation.
Comfortable using common office software and administrative systems.
A reliable team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
Working Hours
Part-Time, 24.5 hours per week
Patient Support:
Tuesday and Friday -- 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (16 hours)
Receptionist:
Thursday - 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (3 hours) & Saturday -- 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM (5.5 hours)

About Us
The Stoneygate Eye Hospital is situated in the leafy suburb of Stoneygate in Leicester. We are proud to have been supporting and working with the local community since 2013. Run by a team of University Hospital Leicester (UHL) consultants, each highly experienced within their respective fields of Ophthalmology, and supported by an experienced, friendly and diverse team of nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff.
