Echo Managed Services are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused
Payment Processing Advisor
to join our Billing, Collections & Recoveries team. In this role, you'll be responsible for processing and allocating payments, handling customer enquiries, and supporting financial reporting and reconciliation activities. You'll play a key part in ensuring service excellence and compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Process and allocate customer payments accurately, including cash, cheques, and electronic remittances
Handle refund payments and respond to customer payment enquiries via phone and written correspondence
Perform cash and bank reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
Maintain and update departmental spreadsheets and support financial reporting activities
Scan, index, and triage incoming documentation to ensure efficient workflow
Deliver service excellence by meeting quality standards, contractual KPIs, and SLAs
Prioritise and schedule daily tasks to optimise performance and achieve First Time Resolution
Build rapport with customers and translate feedback into service improvements
Communicate insights and feedback to operational teams to enhance client and customer outcomes
Collaborate effectively with team members to meet shared service targets and objectives
Promote Echo's values and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Actively participate in personal development reviews (PDRs) and identify training needs
Comply with data protection regulations and internal IT security policies
Maintain awareness of health and safety responsibilities within the workplace
Represent Echo professionally in all business interactions and support Total Quality Management initiatives
What You'll Need
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a payment processing environment, with at least six months in a cash office setting (desirable)
Numerically proficient with a keen eye for identifying errors and solving problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally to customer enquiries
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel and Outlook
Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and meet individual and team performance targets
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent); professional qualifications are beneficial but not essential
