About this role:




As a subject matter expert, you'll represent the Society in the payments space ensuring our services meet regulatory standards and industry best practices. You'll use your data expertise to analyse customer payment activity for committee reporting and to inform required changes to the customer payment journey, provide payments regulatory knowledge in supporting consultation responses and offering technical advice on projects involving payments. You'll

Build and maintain strong relationships with outwardly facing key stakeholders across the payment industry (Pay.UK, UK Finance), payment regulatory bodies (PSR, FCA,) other financial institutions and payment suppliers. Act as a deputy to the Payments Services Manager when managing communication to scheme and industry bodies in the case of a high-impact incident, ensuring timely updates are provided to relevant internal/external stakeholders. Provide monthly analysis and reporting on the ongoing performance of payment suppliers through evaluation of their KPIs. Prepare data-led analysis of YBS customer payment activity for reporting at monthly forums and committees such as Payments Forum and Op Risk Committee. Supplying value-add interpretation of payments activity and performance to identify use cases for the Payments Product Manager/Owner to assess for feasibility of change. Provide support in payments impacting incident scenarios, working with the Banking Services Manager to ensure business continuity plans are adequately in place and can be executed successfully. Be responsible for making sure the Group's payment policy and associated policy guides are kept up to date, and in line with any internal or external changes.

What we're looking for:



Strong analytical experience using common industry-wide tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Experience in payments services or related roles, with a good understanding of payment processing. Experience of delivering change impacting payment systems and processes. Skilled in reviewing procedures and recommending process improvements. Ability to work independently within a wide range of procedures and standards, applying a degree of judgement within set frameworks. Good knowledge of Microsoft apps and presentation skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
