Join the Close Brothers Reward Team! We're looking for a detail-driven Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead the delivery of a robust payroll and benefits operation across our Group and Banking divisions. You'll ensure everything runs smoothly, compliantly, and on time, while supporting our people with accurate, high-quality service. If you've got hands-on experience managing payrolls in a complex, multi-site organisation and a passion for process excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage monthly payroll processing in line with legislation and company policy
Oversee year-end payroll tasks including P11D and tax reporting
Handle payments to third parties (e.g. HMRC, pension providers)
Lead annual benefit scheme renewals for Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland
Coordinate UK risk insurances and private healthcare renewals
Manage Life Assurance and Group Income Protection claims
Maintain payroll and benefits schedules, communicating changes proactively
Organise team tasks to meet service levels and deadlines
Collaborate with HR Advisors and Business Partners to resolve queries
Inspire and develop your team through coaching, feedback, and career support
Developing Our People:
as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
Experience processing in-house payrolls
Strong, up-to-date knowledge of payroll and benefits legislation
Experience with tax year-end and P11D processing
Ability to build strong relationships across varied stakeholder groups
A process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Advanced Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
Experience in the financial services sector
Working knowledge of Resourcelink
Experience managing Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland payrolls
Exposure to benefit scheme renewals
