We're looking for a payroll administrator and bookkeeper that would like to work in a small practice environment.

Baker Noel is a long-established family firm of Chartered accountants based just outside of Bedford. We offer a range of services, including accounts preparation, taxation, business advice, bookkeeping, payroll and company secretarial. We have a broad range of clients, from sole trader and tax return only clients, to partnerships and small companies, to medium sized companies and international clients. Our focus is on providing excellent service to our clients, by supporting them and their businesses.
The job
We are looking for somebody is able to assist with various aspects of the firm's work, primarily payroll, but also bookkeeping and general admin work.
The successful applicant should have good knowledge of payroll processing and bookkeeping systems - ideally with practice experience, but not essential.
Salary will be 16-18 per hour, depending on experience.
Please note it is an office based role only. The hours are flexible between 8.30am - 5pm each day, however it is a Monday to Friday role, 25-30 hours a week.

Experience with payroll software is beneficial, however training on our software will be provided.
Candidates will need good competence with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook and Word, and a desire to grow their skillset.
Desirable skills:
Experience preparing payrolls
UK general accountant/bookkeeping practice experience
