Our vacancy;



We are looking for a Payroll administrator / Bookkeeping, this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and knowledge within our accountancy practice. There is scope to further a career within the business.

The vacancy sees the roles running concurrently, with the Payroll Admin ensuring that Payroll and CIS submissions for clients are requested, completed and submitted within the specified deadlines. Using Bright Manager for payroll and NEST for pensions. With over 150+ clients using this service, we have plans to expand this department further in the near future. You will also work alongside the accounting team in the preparation of accounts, the processing and submission of VAT. Software experience such as DEXT and Xero is pivotal to the role, along with an understanding of other software such as Tax calc.

The split in the role is currently 60% Bookkeeping and 40% Payroll. The right candidate will have the ability to manage their own workload, make decisions on priorities, whilst monitoring and reporting on deadlines. Within this role you will ensure compliance with applicable laws and tax obligations in both areas.

There is a requirement for there to be a good understanding of the impact of PAYE and the effect that it has within a business, dis-gruntled employees lead to dis-gruntled business owners.

A good understanding of the different software and submission methods is required for the bookkeeping, with the ability to identify which method is most suited to the client and their needs.

The role of Bookkeeper and Payroll administrator requires high quality standards and the ability to exceed customers' expectations. You should pride yourself on having a professional manner throughout all communications with clients. Mixed with the ability to deal with client queries, making decisions and finding resolves to situations as and when they arise.

Bookkeeper responsibilities



Processing payments, invoices and receipts. Preparation of financial statements showing incomes and expenditures Preparation of accounts alongside the accountancy team Carry out weekly and monthly bookkeeping for a variety of clients Maintenance of client records Preparing and submitting VAT returns

Payroll Administration responsibilities



Ownership of clients payroll for 150+ clients End to end management of Payroll Process Payroll, CIS and Pension submissions Maintain accurate records of clients payroll

Requirements



Experience with Xero, Dext and Hub doc Experience with Bright Pay and Nest Experience in the industry ideally in an accountancy practice (2 years minimum) Payroll qualification - Desired but not essential Excellent customer service skills The ability to multitask
