Location: Welwyn Garden City | Hybrid (2 days in office) | 37 hours per week
Salary: 51,848 - 55,163 (depending on experience)

Payroll Manager

to lead and enhance our payroll function.

The Role



This is a key leadership position responsible for delivering a comprehensive payroll service across the organisation. You will ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the full payroll lifecycle while supporting a positive employee experience. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the end-to-end payroll process and overseeing pensions administration Acting as the main liaison with our external payroll and pensions provider (MHR) Implementing pay awards, bonuses, and recognition schemes Providing data insights to support decision-making Coaching and developing a small in-house payroll team

About You



We are looking for a proven payroll professional with:

Significant experience of Payroll Systems preferably

MHR iTrent

A strong understanding of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and compliance standards Excellent data analysis and advanced Excel skills Proven leadership and team management experience Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Experience within the education or catering sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
