Main Purpose of Role

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic team player to join our Payroll Team within the Finance Department. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in payroll and be part of a team providing an excellent customer focused service to the Force.



You will be responsible for ensuring the payroll system and procedures required to pay employees each month, are carried out accurately and on time; and liaising with HR teams, employees and other outside bodies such as the HM Revenue & Customs, Benefits Agencies and the Home Office as required.



We operate a flexi scheme for staff; basic holiday entitlement of 24 days per year, plus Bank Holidays which increases to 29 and 32 days after 5 and 10 years' service respectively; there are benefits such as salary sacrifice schemes, a subsidised gym, and range of discounts offered through the Blue Light card; and are part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) which is a defined benefit scheme based on a career average salary.
