We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team in a newly created role as a Payroll, Benefits, and Pension Administrator.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-caliber and efficient administrative support services within our fast-paced environment. As the first point of contact for employee payroll and benefit inquiries, you\'ll ensure prompt and reliable assistance. Additionally, you will take the lead on all aspects of pension administration, including auto-enrollment, monthly data collection, and coordination with third-party entities. Collaborating closely with the People Operations Manager, you\'ll provide essential support in generating management information and reporting from Bob (our HR system).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Efficiently delivering auto-enrollment, starter and leaver payroll processing, calculating on-call payments, and providing accurate data to pension providers.
  • Cultivating effective relationships with stakeholders, offering guidance on payroll, benefits, and pension matters, and addressing ad hoc queries from employees.
  • Accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, including updating employee data, importing variable pay-run data, and validating variables with the finance function.
  • Calculating and processing all salary payments, additional payments/deductions, and maintaining accurate records on our HR system.
  • Handling thorough records on all payroll and pension matters, responding to auditors\' queries, and providing data to third-party benefit providers.
  • Ensuring timely processing of purchase orders and invoices, along with collating and reporting management information.
  • Providing administrative support for the broader People team, including tasks related to onboarding, contracts, and people administration.
  • Participating in projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement in the People space.

Genomics England operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility. We expect most people to come into the office 2 times each month as a minimum. However, this will vary according to role and will be agreed with your team leader. For some people this is 1 day a quarter, for others it is several days a week. There is no expectation that staff will return to the office full time unless they want to. The exception would be some of our roles that would require you to be on site full time e.g., lab teams, reception team.

Our teams and squads have, and will continue to, reflect on what works best for them to work together successfully and have the freedom to design working patterns to suit, beyond the minimum. Our office locations are Canary Wharf, Cambridge and Leeds.
