Job summary - What to expect:



As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting the payroll team by processing payroll for approximately 18 entities across the region. Responsibilities will include processing and checking new starters, leavers, and all changes prior to processing payroll, ensuring that all reports are run and payrolls are following the company audit controls. You will also assist with payroll projects including payroll system upgrades and data validation between the companies CRM and payroll systems.



Other roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Delivering accurate, timely and compliant Payroll for aspects of the payroll cycle liaising with HR and country teams and ensure country procedures are followed. Individually and as a team member striving to improve the systems, processes, and Payroll delivery environment to maximize the efficiency and accuracy. Owning or contributing to specific company projects such as improving and/or changing systems, processes, or functions within the business. Owning, managing, and resolving client escalations, seeking help and advice where needed. Manage the relationship with Payroll Vendor's to ensure accurate and timely delivery of Payroll. Proficient in the calculation of SSP and SMP. Filing of year end returns with relevant UK, European and ACE Countries. Ensure Payroll is compliant including performing scheduled self-audit and SOX tests on Payroll related processes. Assists with the Preparation of the monthly/quarterly payroll Journals. Daily interaction with HR staff, line managers, accountants and other staff at all levels, handling requests for Payroll information, resolving queries and issues.

About you:



Proficient in the calculation of SSP and SMP, with a strong sense of accuracy and timeliness in delivering Payroll against agreed country schedules. Attentive to any inefficiencies and inaccuracies in the systems, processes and Payroll delivery environment, and strive to improve these individually and as a team. Able to manage professional working relationships- with the Payroll Vendor, the Assistant Payroll Manager and with clients, sometimes needing to own, manage and resolve client escalations (help will be provided where necessary). Able to provide evidence of ongoing professional development, proficiency in using spreadsheets in Word and Excel, and other relevant skills in Payroll accounting. Able to work successfully unsupervised- both in-office and remote, and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.

Experience & Education:



Required


An understanding of the fundamentals of Payroll Proficiency in Excel
Preferred


CIPP desirable but not essential Data entry skills Proficiency in other languages, particularly those spoken in the Nordic region
