We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic PE Coach / Personal Trainer to deliver sessions as part of our Strong Starts Programme in primary schools across Essex.
This is a part time, sessional role suited to coaches who already work in fitness, sport, or education and are looking to add school hours delivery to their week.
We are looking for like minded coaches who care about impact, professionalism and working with children in a school environment.
About The Academy Programme
The Academy delivers movement led programmes that support young people from primary age through to college level, using physical activity as a tool to build confidence, consistency and positive behaviours. We design and deliver structured qualifications and development programmes in partnership with schools, colleges and community settings, working closely with national governing bodies to ensure quality, progression and safeguarding standards. Our work spans England, Scotland & Wales and is rooted in inclusive, trauma-informed practice , prioritising wellbeing, engagement and long term positive relationships to promote healthier lives.

Encouraging confidence and participation for all abilities
Creating positive experiences of movement at an early age

This role offers flexible, part time hours only
Sessions take place during school hours
You will be delivering within primary school settings
Reliability, safeguarding awareness and professionalism are essential
This role suits someone who wants to grow with a new programme, not someone seeking guaranteed full-time hour
Responsibilities
Deliver PE sessions for primary age children
Deliver sessions in line with the Strong Starts Programme framework (training provided)
Create a positive, inclusive and encouraging environment
Manage behaviour calmly and appropriately within a school setting
Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with safeguarding expectations
Set up and manage basic equipment for sessions
Communicate professionally with school staff where required
Represent the programme positively within partner schools
Experience
Essential:
Qualified Personal Trainer, Sports Coach or PE related qualification
Confident working with children
Strong communication skills and a calm, professional manner
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Able to travel to schools across Essex
Safeguarding & Compliance:
Willing to complete safeguarding training (provided)
Enhanced DBS required (support provided if you do not already have one)
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience working in schools or youth settings
First Aid qualification (provided if needed)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 20.00-25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 10 per week
