Our vision is to provide the highest quality of PE, School Sport and Physical Activity for our partner schools and the communities we serve across County Durham.

Our provision will engage over 50 schools, delivering a variety of programmes and services to nursery, primary and secondary schools respectively.

We provide high quality PE and School Sport opportunities to children and young people in order to improve the holistic opportunities that will ultimately encourage and motivate them to lead healthier, more active lifestyles.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate PE & School Sport Coordinator. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering PE, including sport specific festivals / competitions and extra-curricular activities in primary and secondary schools during term time. The successful candidate will also support and grow our community holiday programmes.

We are looking for a PE and School Sport Coordinator who can lead, inspire and who:

QTS with Physical Education specialism would be welcomed Has a NGB Level 2 Coaching Qualification &/or Multi Skills Level 2 Coaching Qualification. Experience planning, delivering and evaluating activity sessions for young people. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide feedback to children, teachers and parents. Self-motivated, energetic and hard-working.

Main responsibilities



The following is typical of the duties the post holder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time.

1. To support schools / teachers in the planning, delivery and assessment of curriculum PE lessons as part of the PE & School Sport Service SLA requirements.

2. To administer and facilitate the delivery of Playground Leaders..

3. To assist in the development and delivery of a PE CPD for EYFS, KS1 & KS2.

4. To assist in the administration and delivery of leagues, festivals and competitions.

5. To deliver interventions and programmes as requested by partner schools.

6. To create a strong community club links strategy to increase opportunities outside of school.

7. To support the team to proactively increase participation levels in events facilitated by the SSP

8. To attend and contribute to meetings involving SLA Schools as and when required.

9. To assist with the event planning and delivery of the School Games programme as and when required.

10. To assist in proactively promoting the work of the SSP via such means as social media organised events, newsletters and links with local agencies and stakeholders.

11. To be responsible for own administrative duties.

12. Under supervision, provide support to the SSP to income generate, in relation, to the planning, organisation and delivery of additional duties that fall outside main tasks and responsibilities.

This position is Term Time ONLY.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 19,200.00-22,400.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 - 28 per week
