PE & Sports Coach - Cambridge (Thursday or Friday Role)
Location:
The Spinney Primary School, Cambridge (CB1)
(with potential expansion to nearby schools as provision grows)
Pay:
12.21 - 16.00 per hour (based on experience and role responsibility)
Hours:
1 day per week (Thursday or Friday) during term time
optional additional hours for other delivery, planning, or cover
paid opportunities to support EcoCoach Holiday Camps outside term time
Average: 5-6 hours per day on-site, plus optional planning time (paid).

Role Overview
We're looking for an energetic and reliable
PE & Sports Coach
to lead delivery at The Spinney Primary School on either Thursday or Friday each week.
You'll be responsible for delivering PE lessons and after-school activities, ensuring every child has a positive, inclusive, and safe experience.
This role is ideal for a qualified coach or PE educator seeking regular, school-based work in a professional and supportive environment -- with room to grow into additional hours, leadership, or QA roles.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, inclusive PE lessons and after-school clubs using EcoCoach schemes of work.
Adapt sessions to suit mixed abilities and SEND pupils.
Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
Prepare and maintain equipment, resources, and registers.
Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour expectations at all times.
Represent EcoCoach professionally and embody our Play Their Way, child-first ethos.
Essential Requirements
Minimum Level 2 Sports or PE qualification.
At least one year's experience working or coaching with children.
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Confident behaviour management and safeguarding knowledge.
Reliable transport and the ability to work independently.
Desirable Skills
Experience leading after-school clubs or wraparound sessions.
Familiarity with Play Their Way or child-led coaching principles.
Interest in mentoring, QA, or curriculum planning.
Progression Pathway
EcoCoach actively invests in people who take initiative and deliver quality.
This role can grow into:
2-5 days per week across multiple schools;
Holiday Camp Lead or QA Educator;
Cluster Lead or Senior Delivery role within EcoCoach CIC.
