Our Turning Point Scotland Services inNorth Ayrshireare looking for people like you to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others and as part of a team.

Turning Point Scotland's North Ayrshire Prevention, Early intervention And Recovery (P.E.A.R.) Service is a drug and alcohol support service based in Stevenston. We involve all of the individuals who use our service to shape our service and benefit communities. They have an input into what activities we offer that will benefit them in their recovery and beyond. We offer 1-2-1 support, group work, therapeutic activities including relaxation and acu-detox in service and community settings. We are a very person-centred support service and stay in line with our logo "

Your journey, your way. Your service, your say"

We get involved in our local communities and attend various other groups and events across North Ayrshire to enable us to offer advice, guidance and signpost individuals to practical services to meet their needs. We also offer a drop-in service where individuals can attend without an appointment to access advice and information. The drop in's are aimed at individuals not engaging in services to offer an informal, comfortable space to meet other people.

The service is open to men and women aged 18 and over who are aware they have a substance use problem and would like to start their recovery journey.

To those willing to engage in the service we will do an assessment to enable us to build a person-centred support plan with every individual. We offer ongoing psycho-social support to those who are experiencing problems due to their alcohol or drug use. This will take place in the form of one-to-ones with a named worker or recovery focussed group work. We work alongside our local statutory addiction service, NADARS, to ensure that everyone in North Ayrshire is accessing the most appropriate support suited to their needs. Further more we also offer therapeutic support with relaxation and acu-detox sessions

North Ayrshire P.E.A.R. Service works with people to take steps towards recovery. Each individual will create a personalised recovery action plan which will detail how they wish to work towards their recovery and the goals they want to achieve along the way. Individuals will receive support to explore their recovery options whilst working alongside other agencies, communities, families and other relevant groups. Those who use the service will also be encouraged and supported to improve and maintain relationships with family, friends and the community to reduce the impact of social isolation.

The North Ayrshire P.E.A.R. Service also operates family support groups open to anyone affected by someone else's substance use.

The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.

No previous working experience is needed; full training will be provided to you. We believe having the right values of respect, compassion, inclusion and integrity is all you need to join our team! We would offer you full support in completing your application.

As a Peer Support Practitioner, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
