The role:
As a Pensions Controls Team Manager, you will be managing a team that is responsible for ensuring that controls are implemented and maintain to ensure the wider team are delivering quality output, following procedures and processes and actively enhancing these controls.
Your team will be responsible for quality and audit review, driving improvement, delivering monthly and ad-hoc reporting to the client and internal stakeholders and ensuring customer satisfaction via excellent complaint and E&O management.
You will be required to attend and lead client meetings and work with the client to deliver ad-hoc projects and align our approach to meet their requirements.
This role can be aligned to any Aptia Office in the UK on a hybrid-working basis.
What you'll be doing:
Manage a team of experienced administrators, complete 1-2-1's and year end reviews.
Provide coaching, direction, and guidance to direct reports to create a high performing service delivery team.
Attend client meetings and monthly review meetings
Manage the delivery of projects driven by the Company and Client
Meet all agreed targets and communicate with the right people in good time where problems arise on deliverables. Ensuring the work management tools are maintained regularly to reflect the current position whenever accessed. Upkeep for lost and new client processes.
Manage the resolution of complaints and E&Os in line with FCA requirements
Working as part of the Quality Assurance and Audit function to embed a culture of continuous improvement in every aspect of our Administration processes.
Carrying out regular internal audits relating to the quality of administration within location, team, client, specialism, process, activity or event.
Ensuring that the audit scope and activities comply with documented standards.
Focusing on areas for improvement following the completion of the audit and collaboratively work with the audited function to put in place rectification measures.
Working with the team to drive improvement in the quality of processes, output and individual competency within the business whilst actively recommending new standards and procedures based on experience and results.
Keep up to date with changing legislation, client requirements and expectations and where a change is effective, take responsibility for implementing and working through identified changes.
Client facing communication as needed, ensuring progress, risks and issues are communicated clearly and with a solutions-focussed approach
Assigning work to entry level and support team members as required, ensuring support is given to adhere to departmental standards and procedures
What we're looking for
Experienced Pensions Administration professional, with deep working knowledge of DB, Buy-In and Buy out schemes within insured pension schemes. Combined experience of Trust and Insurance based work would be ideal
Strong technical knowledge of current and historic pension legislation.
Previous experience of managing a team
Experience managing pension administration projects
Excellent relationship building and communication skills at all levels, both internally and externally
Structured and organised, able to prioritise simultaneous workloads effectively across multiple deadlines for multiple projects
A willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable to a changing environment
Strong business acumen with existing client-facing experience
May have a project management qualification (desirable) or be interested in working towards one
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
