Position:

The People Administrator provides administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits, absence tracking, and HR queries. The role ensures accurate records are maintained, supports HR projects and reporting, and assists with general office administration, helping to maintain an efficient and compliant People Team.

Requirements:

Preparation of People administration, including but not limited to offer letters, contracts, changes to terms and conditions, reference requests and resignation acknowledgements. Support the People Team with administrative duties. Maintain and update employee records on the HR system. Supporting the People Team with regular projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Act as the first point of contact for general HR queries via phone and email, providing initial support and escalating to the People Team when necessary. Administration of payroll for Markey Group and any associated companies, ensuring salary payments are accurate, on time and compliant with HMRC and employment law regulations. Track employee absence and attendance, supporting Line Managers with return-to-work forms and sickness record information. Maintain and use trackers to organise and coordinate key employee milestones, including probation reviews and long service awards. Support with employee onboarding through issuing new starter packs, conducting reference checks, and induction sessions. Assist in the coordination and administration of training and development activities. Support with the administration and communication of employee benefits, ensuring accurate records and timely data submission to providers. Office administration as required by Group Services, including daily sorting and distribution of post and ordering office supplies and stationery. Coordinate People team meetings, including scheduling, booking rooms and distributing notes or follow-ups. Answering and redirecting phone calls within the Group Services. Host weekly 'People Pop-Ups' in the Factory to address employee queries, share relevant information, and escalate issues to the HR Advisor as needed. Provide accurate HR data and reports to the People Team and key stakeholders across the business as requested. Maintain and effectively utilise the HR system. Support Line Managers with note-taking and guidance during investigations.

Skills and Experience Required





Essential



A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 including Maths and English. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and use initiative to manage tasks effectively. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage queries effectively.


Desirable



CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or working towards one. Previous experience using a HR system.

Other information





Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9 am until 5 pm. Office-based.



We are offering a salary of up to 26,000 - dependent on experience.
