Job description
Role: People & Culture Business Partner
Salary: OM2 53,547 - 64,258
About the Organisation:
As a long-term endeavour, the South East Wales Corporate Joint Committee (trading as Cardiff Capital Region or CCR) is built on a functional economic geography that is constantly adapting to tackle the big industrial, public policy and societal challenges of the day.
With the emphasis on ongoing self-evaluation, impact delivery and long-term benefits realisation, the team in CCR is determined to make a real difference to the lives of the 1.5m people who live and work in this Region and to the businesses here that generate over half of Wales' GDP. Based in the new and highly stimulating Spark Building, owned by Cardiff University, CCR's efforts span the ten councils of South East Wales, the UK and increasingly, a global stage.
Our ambitions of shared prosperity, increasing productivity, and developing a greener and fairer economy underpin our central vision of inclusive growth. Ensuring every community within the ten local authorities of our Region has access to opportunity and can reach their potential.
Everyone at CCR has a role in fulfilling these ambitions. By joining our organisation, you are contributing to our mission of creating a competitive, connected, and resilient Region through the delivery of strategic interventions that nurture social and economic well-being throughout South-East Wales.
About the Job:
Are you ready to take your next step in your career into a Senior People & Culture role in the public sector? Cardiff Capital Region is a unique organisation that will provide you with opportunities to help shape its future and success through all aspects of people-impacting strategies, polices, processes, and development. You will lead a small team that delivers comprehensive People Services across the whole of the organisation, ensuring legislative compliance and reinforcing an engaging and compassionate culture. Working closely with the Head of People & Culture, you will work on programmes that ensure we have highly skilled managers and colleagues who have every opportunity to excel and achieve great things.
What we are looking for from you:
We are looking for a well-established HR professional who can bring experience across organisational development & learning, culture, change and employee relations. Having the ability to navigate challenges and provide solutions is fundamental to support this growing organisation to succeed. You will need to be people-focused and a champion for diversity and differences. Influencing skills are essential, and the confidence to challenge in a way that demonstrates your credibility and integrity as a people professional is crucial.
For an informal chat, please contact Julie Stokes, Head of People & Culture Julie.stokes@cardiffcapitalregion.gov.uk
The interview process will take place on Friday 1st August 2025 and will be held at Sbarc/Spark, Maindy Road, Cardiff CF24 4HQ.
