The People Services Pillar works tirelessly to ensure that TQUK is a great place to work, and in light of our ambitious growth plans, we are looking to add an additional People Partner to our dynamic, high-performing team, bringing specialist employee relations knowledge, skills, and experience.
About the role:
This is a unique hybrid role that offers variety and rich opportunities to learn continuously. As a People Partner your focus will be:
Specialist ER focus Youll lead on complex ER matters, ensuring fairness and compliance.
People Partnering Youll support a small business unit (around 30 employees), giving you a broader HR remit and the chance to influence the full employee lifecycle.
We're ideally looking for an individual who can upskill the wider People Services team but also identify and introduce initiatives and training with the overall aim of preventing ER instances. You'll thrive on delivering fair and practical employee relations solutions, with strong ER expertise, excellent analytical skills, commerciality and attention to detail. You'll confidently manage sensitive issues, supporting investigations, managing employee life cycle events such as probation, sickness absence and providing clear, consistent guidance to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
ER Responsibilities:
Provide practical, solutions-focused guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, absence, conduct, grievance, and policy interpretation, ensuring advice is consistent with company policies, employment law, under the guidance of the HR Manager.
Manage employee relations casework (disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management etc,), including co-ordinating meetings, preparing documentation, gathering evidence, liaising with internal stakeholders, and ensuring accurate, GDPR-compliant record keeping.
Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of employment law, applying it effectively to casework and policy advice, and keeping abreast of legal updates to ensure compliance.
Support with the interpretation and implementation of new legislation changes.
Work with the other People Partners to develop their ER knowledge, confidence and skill enabling them to support their own areas of responsibility.
Work with the L&D team to develop and deliver meaningful training to upskill managers in the area of ER.
Work with the HR Manager to build a team of Manager ER experts across the business that can support with ER instances ensuring fairness, compliance and professionalism in all ER matters.
Assist the HR Manager with ER related project delivery, contributing to initiatives that support employee engagement, organisational change, and company culture.
Provide administrative and procedural support for ER processes, including minute-taking at formal meetings and hearings, scheduling and co-ordinating case-related meetings, and ensuring consistent documentation standards are maintained.
Analyse people data and ER trends, such as ER cases, absence patterns, and workforce metrics. Support the HR Manager in using Management Information and engagement survey insights and data to drive pro-active improvements.
Undertake regular CPD activities to ensure learning & Development within own role particularly in relation to employment law
Key People Partner Responsibilities:
Provides end to end HR support to a small business unit. This is an ideal opportunity to get a closer look at how TQUK manages the employee experience.
Assist with first line HR queries
Advise on HR policy and procedure
Support the operational processing of employee lifecycle activities, including family-friendly, flexible working requests, probation reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Support with some day to day HR administrative activities
Become proficient in PeopleHR our HRIS
Support and track onboarding tasks
Coordinate and deliver induction training
Schedule, track and complete, offboarding tasks
Coordinate the application process for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
Support the HR Manager with day-to-day operational tasks/issues arising
Support to ensure all HR related policies, procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are accurate, up to date in line with Company compliance requirements
Support with employee engagement activities
Support Learning & Development (L&D) Lead with ongoing L&D activity
Other Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an understanding of Training Qualifications UK internal processes and of the wider educational landscape
Maintain knowledge of Training Qualifications UK products and services
Work to improve and streamline processes and integrate the outcomes of your own work
Undertake other duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business as required
Maintain an in depth understanding of regulatory requirements associated with own area of work across awarding and EPA provision.
Champion the organisation values always to model behaviours to wider team staff.
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Maths and English GCSE grade 5 or equivalent
Proven experience working in an Employee Relations role
A strong working knowledge of employment law
Thrives working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and advise at all levels
Strong analytical skills, with experience in breaking down data and translating insights into meaningful actions within the people function
Experience and ability to enable high levels of trust when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
Excellent IT skills proficient in Microsoft office package
Experience in producing reports and statistics for Management Reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build strong relationships with managers and colleagues
Exceptional attention to detail
Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills
Ability to work autonomously
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Experience of using a HR Information System
CIPD level 5 or HR apprenticeship qualified or working towards
