Overview

The Area Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing operations within designated areas, ensuring that standards of quality, service, and efficiency are consistently met. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture or gardening and be able to communicate effectively with diverse teams and customers.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations within the assigned area, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance performance and productivity. Maintain high standards of merchandising and presentation of products. Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving sales and customer satisfaction. Conduct regular inspections of the area to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, utilising strong communication skills. Assist in inventory management, including stock control and ordering supplies as needed.

Skills

Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Experience or knowledge in gardening or horticulture is advantageous for understanding product offerings. Excellent merchandising skills to create appealing displays that attract customers. Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, management, and customers clearly and professionally.
