We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of

Performance and Risk Director, SME Business Banking.





The Performance and Risk Director will report directly into the Regional Director, fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the Relationship Manager population. They will manage the regional profile with key internal stakeholders to facilitate the execution of effective risk management strategies, anticipating emerging risks and implementing proactive measures.



The role holder will analyse local financial performance and market trends to inform growth strategies, driving a customer-obsessed mindset and embedding a high-performance culture throughout the region.



In this role, you will:

Manage regional profile (WCRM, various risk stakeholders, i.e. Fraud, NFR, FR etc) to facilitate execution of customer deals, referrals and management of risk issues. Foster a strong risk-aware culture across the BBRM regional team Support LD's / RM's to undertake tailored customer risk assessments leading to more accurate credit evaluations and mitigation strategies Coordinate regional investigations and root cause analysis for events / incidents / fraud. Lead regional response efforts during risk events / crises Support and analyse local market trends and financial data to make informed decisions Take a proactive approach to performance improvement and growth Prepare & present local meeting packs as required, including MI tracking for local campaigns


To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

Proven coaching and performance management skills In-depth knowledge and experience of Corporate Lending Extensive knowledge of the UK market, understanding the interplay between geopolitics and commercial outcomes, and connectivity with a range of stakeholders (i.e. customers, regulators, and employees). Experience in driving team and individual performance to achieve customer and financial targets. Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating in dealing with clients and colleagues. Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, meet role demands and make prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes. Ability to understand a customers' business and priorities and interact with business customers at all levels.
