Job summary
The Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) is a led HQ, based at Northwood leading and running overseas operations, and consists of a mix of military personnel and Civil Servants. The PJHQ Digital Hub is a pillar within the J6 Division working closely and proactively with all PJHQ Divisions to deliver and maintain strong collaborative relationships. This new concept brings together a team of Information and Knowledge Managers to deliver a high standard of IM across PJHQ.
The positions advertised are at 37 hours per week.
Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time the wider organisation, are/ will be subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. These changes may be minor or could be more substantive and will generate new opportunities. Throughout, the Command's transformation programme is committed to following the MOD's framework on managing and supporting people through the change process and places an emphasis on early and open consultation and engagement with the Command's personnel and Trade Unions.

Job description
This advert is for the following open position within the PJHQ Digital IHub:
PJHQ J6 Digital Hub IM SO3 Core
Directly reporting to the Digital Hub SO2, you'll be at the heart of information management. You'll have the vital task of capturing, storing, distributing, utilising, retaining, and disposing of information, all in strict compliance with the MOD Information Management Policies. These policies are meticulously detailed in JSP441 - Information, Data and Digital in Defence. This role offers you the chance to play a critical part in shaping the digital landscape of the Ministry of Defence.
Trusted authority for all things related to MODNET account management, asset management and MS SharePoint within PJHQ. You'll be the lynchpin to the organisation, providing insight and action. This role places you at the heart of core activity and operations, serving as the primary point of contact for these crucial areas. It is a position that offers both challenge and reward, making every day diverse and engaging.
The expert user and Local Security Officer for MODNET Secret and Official systems. This position offers you the opportunity to leverage your skills and knowledge to protect and manage some of the most sensitive information within the Ministry of Defence.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, robust security protocols, and a deep understanding of the systems you'll be overseeing.
To act as an Expert User and Local Security Officer for MODNET Secret and Official systems.
Your role will also involve briefing the Digital Hub SO2 on any information risk or opportunity identified and executing risk mitigation plans as directed.
You'll be a catalyst for change, identifying continuous improvement opportunities for improving efficiency and the management of information, such as aiding teams to develop their shared environments.
As a champion of Information Assurance, you'll ensure processes, procedures, and electronic ways of working comply with MoD policy to maintain information security.
A customer- facing role, and you will be required to spend working time in the office, offering you the chance to interact and build relationships with a wider range of individuals.

Person specification
You will be expected to, but not limited to:
Carry out the roles of Authorised Requestor (AR), Local Security Officer (LSO) and Financial Approver to process Defence Digital Catalogue requests, including creation and issue of accounts and roles for MODNet.
Diagnose and prioritise technical incidents, investigate their causes and find resolutions.
Checking and authorising Nationality Checks.
Provide technical and information management to PJHQ group personnel to help ensure best practice and compliance with MOD policies including across operational locations.
Manage laptops, mobile phones, and other Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) for PJHQ.
Maintain and improve information on the PJHQ SharePoint site.
Deliver IM briefings to new joiners to PJHQ.
Undertake learning, development, and upskilling.
Attend Digital Hub and IM Focus Groups.
