An opportunity has arisen for full time Personal Advisor's which will be appointed to at Grade 7/8
Applicants must have either;
For a grade 7 - you will require previous experience working in a Leaving care team setting for example as a PA and there would be an expectation that you would need to go through a progression criteria
For the grade 8 - you require a level 5 professional qualification in a subject and experience related to working with children, young people and families. (for example, Youth and Community work, Social work, Housing related support work)
We require someone who is highly motivated to work as part of an integrated service with children, young people and vulnerable adults who are eligible for services under The Children Act 1989 and corporate parenting strategy. Candidates will also be required to have an understanding of a Personal Advisor's role, they will also take on responsibilities and duties that require working with complex and challenging issues and risks
The main responsibility will be to plan, co-ordinate and deliver an effective range of social and youth work inclusion services for children/young people. It is essential candidates work as part of a team and have effective communication, IT and interpersonal skills.
It is desirable that the successful applicant has knowledge of a range of statutory functions in relation to other key guidance and legislation such as the Leaving Care Act 2000 and the Homelessness Act 2002.
You will require knowledge of the range of agencies/services working with vulnerable and the socially excluded young people, with a commitment to high quality services that place young people at the heart of delivery which is essential to this post.
