We have an embedded systemic practice model in Warrington are work alongside the Centre for Systemic Social Work, who are providing a comprehensive training programme to personal advisors, social workers and managers across our teams.



We are proud of our ever-expanding Local Offer for care leavers in Warrington and the work we do to promote participation. This includes our open-door drop-in service at the Living Well Hub where we are developing a portfolio of resources and workshops for our care experienced young people to access. We are proud of our relationships with our young people and how we innovatively maintain contact with them.

The role







Warrington are seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated Personal Advisor to join our 'GOOD' Care Leavers Service.



This role involves supporting care experienced young people age 16 - 25 years to transition into independence and adulthood.



We provide a statutory service in line with the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.

What's needed?







Significant experience of direct work with teenagers and young adults.



Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject to the role.



At least 5 GCSE's including maths and English.



We are seeking to appoint a Personal Advisor who can:



Carry out duties of a Personal Advisor under the terms of the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.



Advise and assist social workers in a range of tasks related to preparing young people for independence.



Support care leavers living independently in the community.



Work in partnership with a range other agencies ensuring that young people leaving care receive the highest possible standard of service.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.



In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Sponsorship is not available for this role; therefore, you must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for appointment.



If you are a permanent WBC employee you will need to apply for this fixed term position as an internal secondment opportunity and will need to discuss this with your current line manager prior to applying.
