A reliable, compassionate, and proactive Personal Assistant is required to support a 20-year-old non-binary student returning home to Barkway for the summer university break. Currently studying Maths and Computer Science at the University of Liverpool, they are bright, friendly, and eager to maintain independence and stay socially connected while away from term-time support.
The individual is a full-time wheelchair user with several complex medical conditions, including Functional Neurological Disorder, Axial Spondylarthritis, POTS, hypermobility, and autism. They also live with anxiety, food allergies (including severe airborne allergies), and executive functioning difficulties.
Hours and rate of pay
9am-5pm (Monday to Friday) with occasional evening shifts, Approx. 950 per week

Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
Safeguarding Adults
Introduction to first aid
Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What you would be doing...
Morning support with getting up, dressing, and personal hygiene
Medication preparation and reminders throughout the day
Meal prep and dietary support (strict allergy awareness essential)
Assistance with shower access and general mobility within an inaccessible home
Driving to shops, leisure activities, friend visits, and occasional medical appointments
Encouraging motivation and participation in hobbies and social engagement
Light housekeeping and laundry
Providing emotional support and companionship
Supporting communication in public when needed

Female only

Friendly, patient, and flexible with a strong sense of humour
Confident driver with own vehicle and business insurance
Knowledge or experience in the following areas:
Supporting autistic individuals
Physical disability and wheelchair safety
First Aid and manual handling

Respectful of pronouns and identities (they/them)
Comfortable in a
pet-friendly home
(2 friendly cats)
Able to adapt daily plans based on physical and emotional wellbeing
Reliable with time-sensitive tasks such as medication
