About the Direct Payment Holder



A dedicated and compassionate

Personal Assistant (PA)

is required to support a

single mother and her 6-year-old son, who has autism and global developmental delay

. The role involves

caring for him at home

and, when possible,

accompanying the family on outings

to play centres, swimming pools, or shops.

This position is ideal for someone with

experience working with children on the autism spectrum

, particularly those who are

non-verbal and have additional needs

.

Hours and rate of pay



40 hours per YEAR

(mainly during school holidays)

Location



Bushey (WD23)

DBS/Checks



Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training



Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

Safeguarding Children Introduction to first aid / Paediatric first aid Health and Safety / Moving and handling

What you would be doing...



Providing

one-on-one support

at home, ensuring a safe and engaging environment

Assisting with

daily activities, play, and structured routines



Encouraging

sensory and social development

through play and interaction

Accompanying the child and parent on

outings

(e.g., play centres, swimming, shopping) if needed

Supporting

basic care needs

and helping to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding

Required skills and experience



Experience working with children with autism

and an understanding of their needs

Childcare qualification

or relevant experience preferred

A patient, caring, and energetic approach

to working with children

Ability to handle challenging behaviours

calmly and effectively

A

driver with their own car

is a bonus but not essential

Female PA preferred
